After the Mallard, the Blue-Winged Teal is the second-most abundant duck in North America. A small duck of shallow ponds, the Blue-Winged Teal breeds across much of the central and northern United States and Canada and reveals its powder-blue wing patch in flight. This male Blue-Winged Teal, with it's large white crescent on the front of it's face and white patch on it's rear flank, was hand carved and painted by Mr. Williams in a traditional Eastern Shore Gunning Style.
